who i am
Analytical by choice. Creative by nature.
Puzzles, taking things apart, and programming: these are why I got a bachelors in computer science. Graphic design, writing, and the beauty of the world around us: these are why I am pursuing marketing.
I always loved solving problems and learning about every little thing I could, but it’s creativity and human connection that brings out who I really am. With marketing, I’m finally combining the logic that shaped me with the creativity that defines me.
My Journey to the Present
Raised in the Pool
I grew up swimming competitively. From the time I was eight until I was eighteen, I was spending two to five a day training. Swimming was and is a huge part of who I am. It helped me develop my strong sense of work ethic and self-reliability. I learned how to be a leader as captain of my high school team and I ended up with two school records.
The H2ornets Wave
Swimming was such a big part of my life that I wanted to give back to my team in a creative way. Designing spirit wear became my first real dive into graphic design, and it was exciting to see my work end up on our t-shirts and hoodies that season. I later created more designs for my team and even the logo for a middle school team I helped found and coach. What started as a side project for my team became the first step in a journey I’m still on today.
College and Computers
At the same time, I was fascinated by problem-solving and technology. That curiosity led me to study computer science at the University of Arkansas, where I sharpened my analytical side. I gravitated towards web development as a way of blending logic with creativity, and I came away with a strong understanding of how technology and design intersect.
lululemon Brings Me Back to School
After graduating, I started working at lululemon. What began as a retail role quickly became more than just a job. It was a chance to connect with people, share stories, and see the power of brand and community up close. It brought me back to the creativity and human connection that first inspired me, and ultimately pushed me toward pursuing marketing.
Where I Am Now
Today, I’m pursuing a Master’s in Marketing at the Walton College of Business while continuing to build my design, website, and branding work. It feels like the path that brings all my experiences together in a way that’s true to me.
